The Jane B. Cella Community Service Scholarship has been awarded to Jack Holland of Plymouth, MA for his exemplary dedication to his community, his passion in service, and for helping others. Jack is a 17 year old student currently enrolled at Sturgis Charter Public School East Campus in Hyannis, MA.
Jack has used his incredible passion for the art of music to contribute and give back to his community through various different support outlets and fundraisers.Through sharing his love of music he has been able to organize and execute successful events to raise funds for a local charity, “My Brother’s Keeper”, which serves underprivileged children and families within his community year round. His passion of the art and community service has guided his decision to pursue his college career in the study of music.
His experience with volunteering and serving his community, through the use of music and cultural arts, Jack has learned the importance of supporting those in need.Whether he’s playing guitar at the Salvation Army or teaching underprivileged children how to play an instrument he has been able to make a large impact within his community. Jack has continued his tradition of playing music for elderly residents of nursing homes for many years and plans to remain an active participant in the community through volunteerism.We applaud Jack for being such a positive support for the people he has impacted as he strives to continue to be an active advocate through his music.
