As a member of Liberty Bay, you may take advantage of several types of insurance coverage at no cost to you.

Accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurance

Liberty Bay's Basic $2000 Accidental Insurance policy is available to each member, free of charge. Members must enroll in order to opt in to this policy. To learn more or to enroll, please click here. Members may purchase additional voluntary coverage (up to $300,000) for themselves and their family during enrollment. Premiums for this additional coverage are deducted from the member's LBCU account.   

Effective January 1, 2016: We have recently switched insurance providers. If you enrolled for accidental insurance prior to January 1, 2016, you must re-enroll to continue your basic coverage under our new provider - New York Life.

Credit Disability Insurance

Credit disability insurance may be purchased by the member to cover the monthly payments of a particular loan if he or she becomes temporarily disabled, up to age 66, and is unable to work. Disability benefits will begin the 31st day of disability. Premiums are added to the loan's outstanding principal balance each month.

Some policies may change or become unavailable when a member reaches age 70. Detailed information is available at our offices. 

These insurance policies are separate from the insurance that automatically protects your Liberty Bay deposits accounts provided by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA), an agency of the Federal government, and the Massachusetts Share Insurance Corporation (MSIC).
